Fifteen years ago, on December 10, 2011, Stephi Cohen and Nicki Maron opened the doors of the very first Blushington in West Hollywood, California — two sisters who, two years earlier, had been packed into their mom's bathroom with the whole family before a bat mitzvah, passing around a single curling iron because there was nowhere they could all get ready together properly. So they built that place themselves. Today, we're marking the anniversary of that decision, and everything it's grown into since.
What Today Actually Is
We've spent the past week celebrating — birthday parties in every lounge, a wall filling up with your stories, handwritten notes from Pro Artists to the guests who've been with us for years. All of that was real celebration, and none of it was actually the day. Today is the day. Fifteen years, to the moment, since two sisters decided that if the place they needed didn't exist, they'd build it.
Because of You
We named this whole campaign Because of You, and today is the day that name means the most. Fifteen years didn't happen because of a logo or a business plan or a five-year strategy deck. They happened because of weddings you trusted us with. Interviews. First dates. Ordinary Tuesdays that needed a little more you in them. Every guest who ever sat in one of our chairs is part of the reason there's anything to celebrate today at all.
Fifteen Years, Still the Same Reason
We've changed a lot since 2011 — three cities instead of one, a franchise model instead of a single studio, a curated approach to products and partnerships that helped define an entire category before other beauty destinations followed us into it. What hasn't changed is the reason any of it exists: a Pro Artist who actually listens before picking up a tool, and a guest who leaves feeling like more of herself than when she walked in. That was true on day one. It's true today.
