The season asks a lot of your makeup. A morning meeting, an afternoon of errands and a dinner that runs late, sometimes all on the same day. Here is how our Pro Artists make makeup last.
It starts with skin
Makeup lasts longest on smooth, hydrated skin. Moisturize, then give it a few minutes to settle before anything goes on top. A monthly BeautyRx Peel keeps the surface smooth so makeup goes on evenly and stays put.
Build in thin layers
Several light layers wear better than one heavy one. Our Pro Artists press product in where you need coverage and keep everything else sheer.
Set with intention
Powder where shine appears first, usually the center of the face, and leave the high points of the cheeks luminous. A setting spray at the end helps everything melt together.
Layer your color
A cream blush or bronzer with a light dusting of powder on top lasts longer than either one alone. The same goes for lips: line, fill, blot and apply again.
Carry a small kit
Blotting papers, your lip color and a compact are all you need to look just as polished at the end of the night as you did at the start.
Let us do it for you
Our Pro Artists have worked with Kevyn Aucoin, our makeup partner, since our very first year. Book a full-face makeup application, or join a makeup class and learn the techniques for yourself.
